Verified business account
A verified business account is a company profile in a messenger or social network that the platform has checked and marked with an authenticity badge so clients can tell it from fakes.
In plain words
A badge next to the name tells the client: this really is that company, not a scammer with a similar profile picture. The platform checks documents, the website and how well known the brand is. Each platform has its own requirements, and they change.
How it looks in practice
A client receives a message “from the bank” or “from the shop”. If there is a verification badge, they trust it and reply. If there is no badge and the text asks them to follow a link or share a code, an experienced person becomes wary.
Not everyone gets verified. Platforms often require a company to be notable: mentions in independent sources, an active profile, a clear history.
Why it matters to a manager
Well-known brands are impersonated all the time: the name, the logo, the tone are copied. The badge is one of the few ways a client can tell you from a fake. Whether people reply to your message and pay through your link depends on it directly.
There is a flip side: responsibility. A verified profile is highly visible. Complaints and rule violations on it get more attention, and losing the badge is easier than getting it.
Common mistake
Treating the badge as a guarantee. Verification does not protect against a ban for spam and does not stop scammers from writing from other numbers in your name. Tell clients plainly which contacts the company writes from and which data it never asks for.

- An official account or your own numbers: how messenger broadcasts really workBulk messages in messengers travel two roads: through a company's official account with templates and approval, or through ordinary working numbers with people behind them. The official road is easier to get approved, but it sounds like a broadcast. Your own numbers sound like a conversation, but they demand order: many live numbers, a spread-out load, replacements for numbers that drop out, and consent from recipients.
- WhatsApp banned your business number: why it happens and how to avoid losing clientsWhatsApp usually blocks business numbers for a combination of recipient complaints, messages to strangers, identical texts, a sudden burst on a new number or unofficial app modifications. A temporary block is a warning, a permanent one closes the account. Read the in-app message, appeal calmly once and tell clients another way to reach you. Keep the history with the company.
