Telegram Channel

A Telegram channel is a one-way message feed in Telegram: the owner or admins publish, and subscribers read, react and, if allowed, comment.

In plain words

A channel is a magazine inside the messenger. Only the company writes; all subscribers read. The number of subscribers is unlimited, and other members cannot see the subscriber list.

A channel can be public, with an open link and discoverable through search, or private, joined by invitation only.

What it looks like in practice

The company publishes news, useful material, terms and reminders. A discussion group can be linked to the channel, and then comments appear under posts. Subscribers decide when to read and can mute notifications.

How a channel differs from private conversation

A channel speaks to many at once. It does not replace a one-to-one conversation: you cannot agree on a deal, handle an objection or record one person’s promise in a channel. A channel reminds people about the company; correspondence sells and recovers money.

The strength of a channel is that subscribing is voluntary. People came on their own, so posts do not feel like spam.

Why it matters to a manager

A channel is a company asset. Admin rights should belong to the company, not to one employee or contractor. A channel has a single owner, and ownership can be transferred only through a separate procedure.

A common mistake

Creating the channel from a marketer’s personal account. The person leaves, and the company has to ask them to return its own audience.

A second risk is look-alike channels. They copy the name and avatar and message your subscribers. Remind people regularly which links and contacts are genuine.
