WhatsApp Business API
The WhatsApp Business API is the official channel through which a company can run WhatsApp at scale, under the platform rules. It is separate from an ordinary number used through the app.
What it looks like
The company connects through an approved route and not through a personal number. Messages follow platform rules, including how a first message may be sent and who has agreed to receive it. It is a formal arrangement, with conditions, and it is not a hidden shortcut.
Why it matters
Teams that run bulk sending from ordinary numbers sooner or later lose one. The official route reduces that risk, but it does not permit everything: it has its own requirements and its own limits, and a bad send still damages the standing of the account. It suits a stable, long-term process better than a quick push. If you are unsure which route suits you, start from your process, not from a feature list.
What to do
Decide what you are building. A steady process with consent and clear templates fits the official route. Short, aggressive pushes do not fit any route. Check the current terms directly with the platform, since they change, and do not rely on rumors about what is allowed.

- WhatsApp banned your business number: why it happens and how to avoid losing clientsWhatsApp usually blocks business numbers for a combination of recipient complaints, messages to strangers, identical texts, a sudden burst on a new number or unofficial app modifications. A temporary block is a warning, a permanent one closes the account. Read the in-app message, appeal calmly once and tell clients another way to reach you. Keep the history with the company.
- Viber CRM: what a sales leader should settle before choosingBefore choosing a CRM for Viber, a sales leader settles five things: whose name the numbers and phones are in, who owns the conversations, who sees what in the chats, what the company gives to the official business channel and what to people, and what happens to clients when a number gets limited. Legality, recipients’ consent and data location are worked out separately — against platform rules, your country’s law and with a lawyer.
