Cold contact

A cold contact is a person who has never written to your company and does not expect your message. Messaging such people is the main ban risk in messengers.

What it looks like

A bought or scraped list. An old export where nobody remembers how the numbers got there. A client who left a year ago. All of these are people who did not ask to hear from you, and they decide in seconds whether to answer, ignore or report.

Why it matters

Complaints and blocks from recipients are what platforms notice first. A cold list sent from a fresh number with one identical text is the textbook route to a restriction. The more recipients who know you, the fewer complaints. A cold list is always a risk zone, however good the offer.

What to do

Do not build the main flow of work on a cold list. The more recipients know you and expect your message, the calmer life is for your numbers.

If you do have to write to cold contacts, remember that every complaint is a signal to the platform against your number. Rising complaints mean it is time to stop, not to push harder. And a person who asks you not to write is not written to again.
