Agent script

An agent script is a prepared structure of a conversation with a client, with key phrases, questions, answers to typical objections and the next step to agree on.

What it is

A script is the agreed way to hold a typical conversation. It can be a word-for-word text, a flexible outline or a set of blocks for different situations. Its purpose is not to turn people into readers, but to make sure every client hears the right information, every important question is asked and every conversation ends with a clear next step.

How it looks in practice

A working script usually has an opening, a few discovery questions, the core message, answers to the most common objections, a closing and a rule for what to do if the conversation goes off track. In chats it often becomes a set of ready snippets that the agent adapts to the client.

An illustrative structure for a reminder call: greeting and name check, reason for the contact, the amount and date, a question about when payment is possible, agreement on the date, confirmation in writing.

Why it matters

A script makes quality repeatable. A new person reaches a decent level faster, results depend less on talent and mood, and the manager can test what works: change one phrase and compare. It also protects the company: legal and sensitive wording is agreed in advance, not invented on the fly.

The typical mistake

A script written in an office that nobody can say out loud. Clients recognise reading at once and stop listening. Another mistake is a script that never changes while the market, the offer and the objections do. Write it from real conversations of your best people, test it on live contacts, leave room for the agent’s own words, and update it when quality reviews show the same weak spot again and again.
